VP Leni was telling the truth when she said on the Pilipinas Debate 2022 that “Yung Maritime, grabe ang opportunity dito pero ang skills kulang.”

Here's another article that supports the claim about our seafarers lacking some skills required by EC & EMSA.

Government offers a subsidy of P7,500 per course under the Seafarer's Upgrading Program (SUP).

Minsan, masyado tayong sensitive pag nasasabihan tayong may kailangan i-improve sa atin at sa marami pang industry sa ating bansa. Why not take it positively and check first kung saang areas meron na kailangan natin mag-improve.
I don't see anything wrong with her statement. I know a lot of Nautical and Marine Engineering graduates who didn't have a choice but to start as messman or lower job roles in maritime than what they studied for. But what she's trying to imply is, kung pwede namang hindi ka na mag-messman at maging officer ka na agad, why not? Or ano pang pwedeng gawin para mas mapabilis ang pag-angat ng rank or promotion ng isang pinoy seafarer.
Ang problema sa ating mga die-hard BBM or Kakampink Supporters, hindi tayo mahilig mag-research before mag-share ng post or magsulat ng article about a spliced video or anything that we saw on Tiktok or any other social media sites. Ang gusto lang natin ay mauna tayong makapag-post to either promote our preferred candidate or malign other candidates tapos hindi pala natin masyadong naintindihan kasi we limit ourselves sa isang 2-minute video or even a 20-second spliced interview. Libre ang Google, take advantage and read some more. Or check Youtube and tapusin mo ang buong video kung meron available.
